A portion of the proceeds from the race are to benefit FitCity Indianapolis on behalf of United Way. The FitCity initiative's mission is to provide children and adolescents, and their caregivers, in an eight-county region (Marion and seven surrounding counties) with messages about obesity, good nutrition, physical activity and healthy weight, and prompt them to be more active and eat healthier. |

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's
largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer
research, education, and patient services. The Society's mission: Cure
leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the
quality of life of patients and their families.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training is
the world's largest endurance sports training program. The program
provides training to run or walk a whole or half marathon, or
participate in a triathlon or cycling event. Since 1988, over 295,000
volunteer participants have helped raise over $660 million. |
