Personal Best 5 Mile Competitive Staggered Start

Using the American Bests for road 8K/5M we have determined the percentage difference between the men’s and women’s and open and masters divisions.  Using 24:00 for an open men’s winning time allows us a more realistic time for a fast local road race and more realistic head start times.  Had we simply used the time difference between the records the head starts would not be significant enough for a competitive situation.
